PADI Rescue Diver
All experienced divers know how important it is to brush up on skills if you haven’t dived for a while, are diving somewhere new, or are using unfamiliar gear.
There is a quick review of basic dive theory, followed by a briefing on safety and hand signals. Then you set up your scuba unit and we head out into the bay.
Once comfortable in the shallow water, we run through some safety skills and a buoyancy check before venturing out to see the reef. Whatever your level, we will tailor the refresher dive to suit your knowledge and experience. This ensures that your return to the underwater world is achieved with the maximum of safety and confidence.
If it has been a significant amount of time since your last scuba experience we recommend that you enroll in a full PADI Scuba Tune Up Program for a more thorough skill review.
It’s time take it to the next level! It’s time to get your advanced certification!
Unlike the open water course, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course involves less theory, it’s all about gaining experience!
If you take your diving seriously, you need to complete the PADI Rescue Diver course. If there was a problem while diving would you know how to react? Would you know how to help? Would you be a help or a hindrance?
First you need to know some first aid skills, if you don’t have any medical training you will complete the Emergency First Response program (EFR) so that you know what to do once you have actually completed the rescue!
The next few days are spent learning how to deal with a variety of emergency situations above, and below the surface. Making the right choices in the first few minutes of an emergency situation could mean the difference between life and death for the victim.
Normally done over two days, you will complete five ‘adventure’ dives* at some of Dahab’s very best dive sites.
There are two ‘core’ dives on the course which are the underwater navigator and deep dive. Navigation is completed in our local bay, while we head out to Dahab’s famous Canyon site for the deep dive.
The other three dives are chosen from the PADI ‘Adventures in Diving’ manual, but the most popular ones are, Underwater Naturalist, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Multi-Level and Computer Diving, Drift Diving and Night Diving. Many of these dives can be coupled with visiting some of our most famous dive sites.
Fantastic! You are now certified to 30 meters and can join all the dive trips we have to offer!
* If you don’t have time to complete the full course you can just complete individual ‘Adventure’ dives which can be credited towards finishing the course at a later date with no time limit.
The course culminates in full emergency scenarios, where you will use the skills learned to co-ordinate a complete accident simulation from the point of when the alarm is raised, to finding and retrieving the victim and then using your first aid skills.
This course is serious fun!
