PADI Specialty Courses

If you have a particular interest, such as photography or the natural environment, you can combine it with your visits to the underwater world. Alternatively, you may just want know as much as you can about different aspects of scuba diving and to be the best diver you can be. In either case, a specialist course could be for you.

PADI offer a wide range of specialty courses which can be completed over one or two days and can often be combined with some of Dahab’s great sites.

These are our most popular specialty courses.

PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)

Nitrox is an excellent choice for divers who want to get the most from their diving holiday. Nitrox enables you to extend your dive time and still stay within safe limits, it’s invaluable on many liveaboard trips when the number of dives is unlimited and the nitrox tanks are included. Using nitrox also means that you will have less nitrogen in your body at the end of a days diving. Many people also say that they feel much less tired when using nitrox.

PADI Deep Diver Specialty

There may be times when you want to go just that bit deeper. If you feel the call of the blue, you need to have the knowledge and skills to explore it safely.
During the deep specialty course you will learn about how depth and how it effects your perception and physiology.

On completing the deep course you are certified to 40 meters, that’s 33 % more of the ocean to explore!

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer

Get a camera, get an underwater housing, jump in and snap away….how hard can it be? Then you see your photos, and of the hundreds of shots and only a handful are any good.

The PADI DUP course will give you the knowledge to take photographs to be proud of.

You will see the difference!

PADI Sidemount

Want to try something completely different? Go Sidemount!!

The tank is not on your back anymore – it is at your side – and you can even take two tanks!! A new challenge for the experienced diver!! In the course you’ll learn how to switch between gases – and how to swim backwards!!

PADI AWARE – Fish Identification

“Was it blue with yellow stripes? Or was it yellow with blue stripes?” It’s frustrating when you can’t remember or identify what you’ve just seen.

Do you know the ‘Nemo’ fish you just saw in the Red Sea, is actually a completely different species to the ‘real’ Nemo? And isn’t it just great when you know some fishy facts that others don’t?

We will open your eyes to a new way of seeing and understanding what the fish are doing.

PADI Master Scuba Diver (MSD)

Really set yourself apart from other recreational divers by becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver.

If you’ve got your rescue certification, fifty logged dives and five PADI specialties, you can apply for PADI’s highest, non-professional rating!

You can do the MSD all in one hit, or build up your specialities over several visits, the choice is yours.
